Arc gouging vs. gas axe

Have you guys already tried air carbon arc gouging? For the torch what's the recommended air pressure? Is the cut like most likely rough? For the carbon electrodes, they are copper coated right so is this going to be as good as the gas axe?

I tried it the other day, it had a rough result. idk if it's bcs or my skill, but the cut is like that.

Yep, carbon arc gouging uses 80–100 PSI air; the cut's rougher than a torch, but great for removing metal fast. Electrodes are copper-coated and great but not as clean as oxy-fuel

yes, the cut is most likely rough. It's a metal removal process, not a precision cutting one. you'll get an uneven surface that will likely require further finishing like grinding
