AC arc welder to DC?

How possible is it to convert an old AC arc welder to dc? If it is, how? Please me point me to the direction on this. Thanks..

For this, you may need to fiind your welder's output, wire in a heavy duty rectifier and maybe add a heat sink to keep it cool.

It's doable and I've seen many people online doing it, but it's not something the average beginner can do. Nothing personal, I wouldn't try this myself. Maybe see if you have someone familiar with this that would help you out? Hire a pro?

Yeah, decided to just hire someone and try to learn by watching lol.
