I spotted a Miller Roughneck 2E welder for sale nearby and i'm heading over tomorrow to check it out. The seller says its in good shape but needs a new battery, he's even offered to jump-start it for me so i can see it in action. Has anyone worked with this model before? Anything in particular I should pay attention to while checking it out?

You should listen for smooth running under load, make sure the generator side holds steady voltage, and look closely for oil or fuel leaks

Take a look at the engine hours and overall condition, and make sure to test the weld output along with the generator power while it's under load. You should be on the lookout for a smooth arc, stable voltage, and clean AC power. Don't forget to check the welding cables for any signs of damage.
