Amico MIG-130A question about power rating?

I'm bringing out my old Amico MIG-130A welder from the storage after 2 years. Dust aside, I want to use it on a 13A fused plug with a 230V household mains supply. That possible? I am trying to avoid all sorts of danger or else my wife will make me put it back in the attic.

Best to stick with 16A or 20A circuit as much as possible or even a heavy-duty extension with the 16A adapter and breaker in between. You should always listen to your wife; the wife is always right. Happy wife, happy life, right?

It look like a good plan but using a 230V supply on a 13A plug could be risky. The welder might draw more power than the plug can handle, causing overheating, but have you checked the welder's specs for recommended power requirements?

A 13A fused plug may not be able to handle the 15A that your Amico MIG-130A typicaly draws, even though it can operate on 230V. I would suggest using a 15A or 20A fuse instead for steady and safe welding. Make sure your wiring is capable of handling it, and consult an electrician if you're not sure. You don't want your wife to force you to put it back, so it's better to be safe than sorry
